Fist

- by nori parelius

Held tight, tighter, tightest
Clenched like a fist
Strength turned inwards

Holding things in, holding things out
Knuckles a sickly white
The stillness a deception
Takes oh so much effort

A princess put under a curse
By her own power
Frozen, poisoned, trapped

What are you afraid of?
What happens if I let go?
What beast am I caging?
What flood do I hold at bay?

What if I let go?
Will I cry? scream? throw up?
But what if you will laugh, sing, love?
